Terra Maris
Where water and land come to life
Terra Maris, literally "land of the sea", is the museum for nature and landscape in Zeeland. The museum is housed in the former orangery of Westhove Castle, located in the stunning nature reserve De Manteling of Walcheren between Oostkapelle and Domburg. A diverse, lively exhibition takes you through the history of the Zeelandic landscape and showcases the richly varied nature of Zeeland. Discover the dynamic nature of the Delta, the many polders, and the over one hundred villages that have been erased from the map by water over the centuries. And… let yourself be surprised by today's landscape.
In the glass entrance hall of the museum, you will find the museum café "de Orangie" and the museum shop. Behind the museum lies a beautiful 2.5-hectare landscape garden.
Terra Maris regularly hosts changing exhibitions and organizes a variety of activities throughout the year.
Please note: Visitors to the museum must park their cars in the public parking lot Westhove, located on Domburgseweg (N287) between Oostkapelle and Domburg at the roundabout near Westhove Castle (Stayokay Hostel Domburg). From November through March, parking is free; during the remaining months, payment is required. A number of parking spaces are reserved for persons with disabilities. From the parking lot, a walking path leads to the museum (approximately 800 meters).
